Welcome
Hey there! In this quick tutorial, I'll show you how to record your first sale in Ardent Seller. Whether you're selling at a craft fair, online, or in-store, tracking every sale keeps your inventory accurate and your finances in order. Let's jump in.
Navigate to the Sales Page
From your dashboard, expand the Deliver section in the sidebar, then click on Sales. This is where all your sale transactions live. You can see any past sales listed here, along with filters and sorting options to help you find what you need.
Open the Create Sale Form
To record a new sale, click the Add Sale button in the toolbar. This opens the sale form as a side panel. Today's date is already filled in, and the status defaults to Initiated. You'll notice a helpful reminder that transactions only affect inventory when marked as completed — you can update the status later once the sale is finalized. For now, let's focus on filling in the details.
Select a Customer
Next, you can pick a customer. Open the Customer dropdown and choose who you sold to. If the customer isn't in your list yet, you can click the plus button right next to the dropdown to create one on the fly. For now, I'll select an existing customer.
Add Items to the Sale
Now let's add what was sold. Click Add Item to create a line item. In the Inventory field, type the product name — I'll search for our Lavender Goat Milk Soap — and select it from the results. You'll see a Cost field and a Quantity field. I'll set the price to eight-fifty and the quantity to six. The line total updates to fifty-one dollars automatically. I'll add a second item — our Vanilla Oat Soap at nine dollars each, with a quantity of four.
Review Totals and Save
Scroll down to the Transaction Total section. The items total shows eighty-seven dollars — that's our six Lavender soaps plus four Vanilla soaps. You can add tax, shipping, a discount, or extra fees here. I'll add six dollars and fifty-three cents for tax. The grand total updates instantly to ninety-three dollars and fifty-three cents. Everything looks good, so let's hit Create Sale. And that's it — your sale is recorded! Your inventory counts update automatically, and this transaction now appears in your sales list.
