Etsy Integration

Ardent Seller uses the Etsy API to help sellers connect their Etsy shops and manage their business from a single platform. This page explains what data we access, how we use it, and how you stay in control.

What Ardent Seller Does

Ardent Seller is an inventory, manufacturing, and sales management platform built for small business sellers. The Etsy integration allows Etsy shop owners to connect their shop to Ardent Seller so they can:

• Import orders and transaction data to track sales and calculate true costs
• Synchronize inventory levels between Ardent Seller and their Etsy shop
• Manage listing state, images, tags, and materials from within Ardent Seller
• Publish new listings to Etsy directly from Ardent Seller inventory
• Track Etsy transaction fees and marketplace commissions for accurate profit margins
• View listing analytics and consolidated reports alongside your Ardent Seller inventory data

Each seller connects their own Etsy shop. Ardent Seller acts on behalf of individual sellers to access only their own shop data.

Data We Access

When you connect your Etsy shop, we request the following Etsy API scopes through OAuth 2.0 with PKCE:

• shops_r — Read your shop name, currency, and active status
• listings_r — Read your listing titles, descriptions, prices, SKUs, quantities, images, and variations
• listings_w — Update inventory quantities on your Etsy listings, manage listing state (e.g., active/inactive), manage listing images, update tags and materials, and publish new listings
• transactions_r — Read your order receipts, transaction amounts, item details, and Etsy fees
• profile_r — Read your Etsy user profile to identify your connected account

We only request the scopes listed above. We do not request scopes to delete your listings or modify your shop settings. We do not access your Etsy account password, financial account details, or data from other Etsy users' shops. We may request additional scopes in the future (such as access to buyer email addresses for customer matching); if we do, you will be prompted to reauthorize through Etsy's OAuth consent flow before any new data is accessed.

How We Use Your Data

Data imported from your Etsy shop is used solely to provide inventory management, cost tracking, and reporting functionality within your Ardent Seller account. Specifically:

• Order data (via transactions_r) is stored as transaction records for cost analysis and reporting
• Listing data (via listings_r) is used to match listings with your Ardent Seller inventory items and display listing analytics
• Inventory quantities (via listings_w) are pushed from Ardent Seller to your Etsy listings to keep stock levels in sync. Listing state changes, image updates, tag and material edits, and new listing publishing also use this scope
• Fee data from orders is used to calculate accurate profit margins

We do not sell, share, or use your Etsy data for any purpose other than providing the Ardent Seller service to you. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to your account.

What We Don't Do

To be clear about the boundaries of this integration:

• We do not access buyer accounts or other sellers' shops
• We do not create an alternative Etsy shopping experience or display listing data to buyers
• We do not use AI-generated content in any capacity
• We do not scrape Etsy pages or circumvent the official API
• We do not sell, share, or redistribute your Etsy data to third parties

Ardent Seller is strictly a seller-facing inventory and bookkeeping tool that complements the Etsy seller experience.

Data Caching and Refresh

In accordance with Etsy's API Terms of Use:

• Listing content is refreshed at least every 6 hours
• All other Etsy content is refreshed at least every 24 hours
• We do not cache or store content longer than is reasonably necessary to provide the service

Revoking Access

You can disconnect your Etsy shop from Ardent Seller at any time in two ways:

• From Ardent Seller: Disconnect the integration from your account settings. We stop importing new data immediately.
• From Etsy: Revoke access in your Etsy account settings under "Apps you've granted access to." We treat this as a disconnection.

When you disconnect, we stop importing new data. Previously imported data (such as historical orders and transaction records) remains in your Ardent Seller account as part of your business records unless you explicitly delete it. Cached or temporary Etsy data is deleted in accordance with Etsy's API terms. You may request deletion of all Etsy-imported data by contacting support.

Your Responsibilities

By connecting your Etsy shop to Ardent Seller, you confirm that:

• You are the authorized owner or administrator of the Etsy shop you are connecting
• Connecting your shop does not violate any agreement between you and Etsy
• You have reviewed Etsy's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy
• You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of imported data

Privacy and Security

Your Etsy data is protected by the same security measures we apply to all data in Ardent Seller, including encryption in transit and at rest, multi-tenant data isolation, and role-based access controls. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Your use of Ardent Seller is governed by our Terms of Service, which include specific provisions for third-party marketplace integrations in Section 6.

Etsy's Terms

Your use of Etsy is governed by Etsy's own terms and policies. We encourage you to review them:

In the event of any conflict between our terms and Etsy's terms regarding data obtained from Etsy, Etsy's terms shall govern with respect to that data.
