An account is the top-level container for everything your business does in Ardent Seller. Every inventory item, transaction, recipe, report, and contact you create belongs to exactly one account, and the platform enforces strict isolation so that no other business can ever see or touch your data.
Most sole proprietors and small partnerships run a single account. The account holds account-wide settings — your plan and billing, tax categories, transaction methods, pricing tiers, and the list of users who can sign in — while the day-to-day records (inventory and transactions) are filtered one level deeper by location.
Because the account is the security boundary, every team member you invite is added to the account and inherits access to its locations. If you operate two genuinely separate businesses, you would keep them in separate accounts rather than mixing their data under one.
